Dear Friends,

I know it is hard to believe, but it is time to start preparing for the 2008 elections. My office is up for re-election next year and I intend to renew my commitment to the 75th District for a 3rd term in the Kansas House of Representatives.

To take on this challenging task another time, I need your help. As you are aware, political campaigns cost a tremendous amount of money and fortunately I have been blessed with generous friends and supporters who have helped make this dream a reality.

I am requesting you send a contribution now to my home address at 1115 Rim Rock Road, El Dorado, Ks. 67042.

The Kansas Campaign Laws limit contributions to $500.00 per entity, i.e., business, corporations, PACS, or individuals. All contributions must be made before the end of the year and can only be accepted during the session from private individuals.

I know I have done a good job in representing your interests and have been very open with my views on many issues. Feel free to contact me for any further information, johng@carlisleinc.net, or visit my website at www.johngrange.net, call me at work at 316-321-6230, or at home 316-321-2087.

I appreciate any contribution you can make and any amount is welcome. I consider it an honor and privilege to be your Representative in Topeka. I want you to know I appreciate your support and I want to know what you think.

Thanks in advance for any support you can give. I hope to see you soon!

Sincerely,

John C. Grange
State Representative
75th District
Kansas House of Representatives

Select Committee Recommends Pay Plan
The Kansas House of Representatives Select Committee on the State Employee Pay Plan recommended a pay proposal for Fiscal Year 2008 that includes salary increases and one-time salary enhancements for state employees. Rep. Grange serves on the committee. You can read the full release here. Rep. Grange adds:

"I believe it important to show a good faith effort to our state employees, that we are working on fixing the pay inequities. The bonus was described by some as "funny money" and would be considered an insult by employees. I could not disagree more, given an opportunity to get a small incremental raise and a pretty sizeable cash payment would not be insulting to me. The adjustment of the pay for those that have a significant pay gap from their civilian counterparts shows we recognize the problem. This will be an ongoing process and we intend to stay on top of the issue and come up with a permanent solution. Doing all this within available sources is the real challenge." - Rep. John Grange
