June 6, 2006
Press Release

El Dorado Incumbent Republican John C. Grange, 75th district, has filed for re-election to the Kansas House of Representatives.

Representative Grange has served in the Kansas House of Representatives since January 2005 and is a member of the Committee for Economic Development, Commerce and Labor, and Wildlife, Parks, & Tourism. He serves on the Budget Review Committee for the Judiciary, Transportation, Revenue, and Retirement Departments, and a member of the Special Committee on Veterans Affairs

“Representative John Grange has been a powerful ally to the business community in the Kansas Legislature. John’s vision to grow the Kansas economy and his voice of leadership in guiding the state along a path to prosperity is critical to Kansas’ success. The people of the 75th District can rest assured their voice is being heard in Topeka.” -Lew Ebert, President & CEO, The Kansas Chamber of Commerce.

Rep. Grange is a member of the Leadership Kansas Class of 2006.

“I am involved with many issues dealing with economic development, encouraging business to relocate to Kansas, and working on incentives to retain existing businesses”, “I am the lead legislator to debate proposed legislation that has a direct impact on the construction industry in the areas of workmen’s compensation reform, prompt payment for contractors, liability insurance issues, and work place safety.” Grange said.

“The economic development opportunities in the State of Kansas and Butler County are enormous and I am proud to be on the leading edge of that development as your State Representative”, said Rep. Grange. “ Being a State Representative is a 7 day a week job, whether we are in the regular session in Topeka, at my business, on a job site, or at home I am always available to be your representative. I believe all citizens concerns should be addressed, and I intend to continue representing everyone.”

Grange continued, “The state has the responsibility to provide adequate service to all the citizens. We address issues that impact daily lives through health care, social services, public safety, K-12 education, regent institutions, transportation, economic development, and tax issues. I balance needs with the fiscal resources to receive the most benefit for the least amount of tax dollars. Property tax and income tax relief are two of my most important priorities”.

“My interest in being a legislator has been to focus on what I can do to help the citizens of the 75th district have a better life. My 12 years of service on the Board of Trustees at Butler Community College, 4 years on the USD 490 Board, and my last two years at the State level has re-enforced my belief in fiscal responsibility and personal accountability.”

“I promise to continue; to use my experience, due diligence researching the issues, to be available to discuss matters with my constituents, and provide an honorable dedication to duty, in my service to all citizens of the 75th District”.

Rep. Grange is the owner and Chief Executive Officer of Carlisle’s, an El Dorado heating, cooling, electrical, and plumbing contractor that has served the Butler County Community since 1978.
