Nancy Grange, Salvation Army and Frontier Refining receive state recognition
El Dorado Public Schools USD 490 nominated Nancy Grange, Salvation Army of Butler County and Frontier El Dorado Refining Company in the 2006 Annual Friends of Education Awards Program.

Nancy Grange received a Certificate of Award, the second place award in the state competition, in the School Volunteer category. Grange has been a tireless volunteer in El Dorado schools since 1980. She has been a room mother, an active member of two elementary PTOs as well as the middle school's S.P.I.C.E. and PRIDE organizations, and was an officer for the El Dorado High School Athletic Booster Club. Most recently she has been providing one-on-one help in elementary classrooms and is a volunteer in the district's I Can Read Program.

Captain Rick Hamelund along with the Salvation Army of Butler County was awarded a Certificate of Merit (3rd place) in the Community/ Civic Organization category. The Salvation Army provides school supplies and clothing to needy students. In addition, the Army offers an after-school program and a character building program to area youth.

Frontier El Dorado Refining Company was awarded second place (Certificate of Award) in the Private/Public Institution category. Frontier is an outstanding supporter of the school district through donations, sponsorships, and its employees' volunteer efforts in our schools.

Grange, Frontier Refining and Salvation Army will be recognized at the regional Friends of Education Banquet April 8th at Andover Central Middle School, Andover, KS.
